Why, hello there!
AMIRA GARNER, CMP, DES
Owner / Principal Consultant, AG Event Strategies, LLC
Hi everyone! My name is Amira Garner, and I am a native of Baltimore, Maryland, who has dabbled in the event industry in various capacities for about 20 years now. I got started in the event industry during my time as a college student at Towson University (Go Tigers! ), where my first job was as a student worker in the university’s Event and Conference Services department. Through E&CS, I worked on multiple events all over campus and came to the realization that I had found something I would love to do as a career when I graduated and “grew up”. Do something I love every day while getting paid for it? JACKPOT!
Since my days at Towson, I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to successfully design and execute a wide variety of events for a multitude of clients. From intimate dinner parties to city-wide national conferences, I have been afforded the opportunity to get in-depth experience in various areas of the event industry and have honestly loved every single moment of it.
Due to the fluid and constantly changing nature of the event industry, I have invested a lot of time and energy into my education and professional development so that I am always aware of what is current and significant in the industry so that my clients would be able to benefit from what I have learned. In addition to my master’s degree in meeting and event management, I also hold the event industry designations of Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Digital Event Strategist (DES). Most recently, I became certified as a Pandemic Compliance Advisor for Meetings and Events.
I enjoy volunteering with various organizations, attending dinner parties with friends, listening to audiobooks, and am currently obsessed with all things Bridgerton. I am very personable and tend to be pretty laid-back, but I am always a consummate professional, and focus on how I can be of service to others.
My personal motto is that anything is possible with a lot of hard work and a little bit of magic.
